UofL Health – Specialty Pharmacy proudly announces it has achieved accreditation through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).ACHC Accreditation logo

Accreditation is a process through which health care organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Accreditation by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

“This accreditation is a testament to the quality and strength of our clinical and operational services,” says Chelsea Maier, manager of Specialty Pharmacy. “Over the last six months, our team has been dedicated to this process which has included implementing policy updates, developing a new patient management system and work flow optimization.”

In addition, UofL Health – Specialty Pharmacy obtained URAC (Utilization Review Accreditation Commission) accreditation in January 2020. As a URAC-accredited specialty pharmacy, we  provide therapy-specific patient management services, promote safety and accuracy in dispensing practices, qualify all medication distribution processes for appropriate temperature ranges, provide 24/7 patient and prescriber support and comply with foundational standards on risk management, consumer empowerment and performance management.

Conveniently located in the Jackson Street Outpatient Center, the UofL Health – Specialty Pharmacy is dedicated to helping patients and providers manage chronic and complex diseases that require specialized therapies and customized pharmacy services.
